Jared Kamrass is a Principal at Technicolor Political, a full-service messaging and advertising firm that advises Democratic candidates, committees, and progressive causes across the United States. Prior to joining Technicolor, Jared founded and served as Principal of Rivertown Strategies, a consulting firm based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and served as a Senior Advisor to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Growing up in a Cincinnati suburb as the son of a Rabbi, Jared and his siblings were taught to value civic engagement from an early age. He became interested in politics after watching the TV series “The West Wing” with his father and brother and seeing Barack Obama’s speech at the 2004 DNC Convention in Boston.
Jared initially planned to pursue a career in broadcast journalism while attending Ohio State during the Great Recession. However, his life took a different path when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma the day after Thanksgiving in 2010. Jared’s experience with cancer treatment and its financial implications, combined with the ongoing national debate over President Obama’s healthcare reform, led him to shift his interests towards politics and healthcare policy.
After graduating from college, Jared returned to Cincinnati, where he managed local campaigns before establishing Rivertown Strategies in 2013. The firm grew into a small business offering a range of strategic consulting services, including fundraising and media planning and buying, for ballot initiatives and candidates at the local, state, and federal levels. In the 2020 cycle, Jared served as a Senior Advisor to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, advising candidates and staff in some of the nation’s most competitive districts.
Following the 2020 election, Jared joined Technicolor Political as a Principal. In this role, he serves as the ad maker and media consultant for a variety of clients, including national committees and candidates for Governor, Congress, and other statewide and local offices. Technicolor Political is the largest majority Black-owned firm in the Democratic Party and focuses on creating and placing innovative content that captures voters’ attention in the age of multiple screens.
In addition to his work in politics, Jared also teaches courses at the University of Cincinnati as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Departments of Political Science and Planning. Overall, Jared Kamrass has dedicated his career to electing policymakers who work towards ending healthcare disparities and fighting for a more equitable society.
